The M16 accepts up to 32 input channels of analog, mic-level, AES-format and SD/HD SDI signals, routing to eight analog and digital outputs; additional sets of outputs can be added in either analog, digital or SD/HD SDI-embedded formats. The new unit was developed by expanding the firm’s popular eight-channel Blue|328 and Gray|318 digital audio mixers. This new application allows for the viewing of either the Blue|328 or Gray|328 status LCD on a PC. In addition to viewing the status LCD the application also allows for the changing of LCD views, audio mute, monitor level control, and monitor enables which extends the mixers monitoring functionality with an easy to use interface. The 328 Status GUI connects to the mixer over standard Ethernet connection using TCP protocol. The 328 Status GUI is available for download at no charge from the Renegade Labs website. The optional new module complements the 304 SD/HD de-embedder module by providing the ability to embed the mixers 8 output channels into an SD/HD SDI video stream. The SDI format--either SD or HD--is detected automatically by the card. Asynchronous sample rate converters on the module permit unlocked SDI sources or higher audio mixer internal sample rates to be used. Alternatively, the sample rate converters may be bypassed if the mixer is operated at 48kHz and both the mixer and the SDI signal are locked to house sync.
